I am feeling nervous about my appointment with High Dental Implants Melbourne

That’s ok! It’s normal to feel nervous before any medical appointment or procedure and we understand that a dental practice is a cause of fear for many people. Fear of the dentist usually crops up in the top ten list of things people fear, alongside public speaking and spiders. We dentists are trying very hard to make the modern dental practice an understanding and welcoming environment and experience.

Whether it is surgery that you are about to undergo, a simple teeth cleaning, whitening or even an initial consultation at High Dental Implants Melbourne, we have a solution to help you through and fear or anxiety and to achieve that smile of your dreams.

It is important to see a dentist on a regular basis in order to reduce the need to have procedures to your mouth. Oral health has been proven to have an impact on the rest of the body, as well as people’s self esteem and confidence.

By taking small steps to ensure you are doing all you can, you will find that we are a caring bunch of professionals who want you to reach those oral health goals.

What types of sedation do we offer here?

Special care is available to anxious patients here at High Dental Implants Melbourne. There are two options of sedation that are offered in order to make a surgical procedure go more smoothly for you, allowing you to be relaxed and comfortable.

The first form of conscious sedation is intravenous sedation. The sedative is injected so that you can relax and forget about the dental treatment that is going on.

The second form is an inhalation method, which is typically preferable for those patients who do not like needles. You breathe in a mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small mask that is placed over your nose and mouth.

You will remain awake and aware of what is going on during the treatment, however you will feel deeply relaxed and at peace. The gas mixture is designed to make you feel calm throughout the appointment.

All of the nurses and dentists have been trained to provide these two types of conscious sedation that allows you to deal with any fear that you may have surrounding your treatment.

For those of you who are experiencing a dental phobia or fear, which is stopping you from coming to visit us, we would love for you to contact us so that we can provide you with information and advice that may help you take the first step in overcoming these fears.

We care about your health and wellbeing as well as your confidence that you have in your own smile. By discussing your options both regarding what we can do for you and the options you have if you are anxious about them, we can create a treatment plan that satisfies everyone.
